“YOU ARE MY BELOVED”
“And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Mark 1:11 (KJV)

This verse is one of the most powerful affirmations in all of Scripture. At the baptism of Jesus, before He performed any miracles, before He preached to the crowds, before He went to the cross, the Father declared His love and pleasure over His Son. This truth carries a deep message for us today: our worth and identity are not based on what we do, but on who we are in Christ.
Notice the timing. God spoke these words at the very beginning of Jesus’ ministry. He had not yet healed the sick, raised the dead, or delivered the oppressed. Still, the Father’s voice thundered with affirmation: “Thou art my beloved Son.” This shows us that God’s love and approval do not depend on performance, but on relationship.
Many of us live in a constant pursuit of validation from people, achievements, or success. But when we understand that God already calls us beloved because we are in Christ, we can rest in His love. Ephesians 1:6 reminds us that we are “accepted in the beloved.” Just as the Father delighted in His Son, He now delights in us who belong to Him.
This verse also teaches us that God’s love is vocal and personal. He does not hide His affection for His children. He speaks it, He declares it, and He confirms it by the Holy Spirit in our hearts (Romans 8:16). You may feel unseen, unworthy, or forgotten, but heaven has already declared over you: “You are My beloved child.”
When you grasp this truth, it gives you strength in trials, confidence in prayer, and peace in your journey. If God is pleased with you in Christ, no voice of the enemy can condemn you, no opinion of man can disqualify you, and no circumstance can strip away your identity.
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the reminder that my worth and identity are found in You. Just as You declared Jesus as Your beloved Son, I stand today in that same love and acceptance through Him. Teach me to rest in Your approval and not seek validation from the world. Strengthen me to walk daily in the assurance of being Your beloved child. Silence every voice of doubt and help me to live boldly in the confidence of Your love. In Jesus’ name I pray.
Amen and To God Be The Glory!
With warmth and blessings,
