“WE FALL DOWN ~ BUT WE GET BACK UP AGAIN”

Life has a way of humbling us. No matter how strong our faith is, no matter how determined our spirit, we all stumble. We all fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). The difference between defeat and victory is not found in whether we fall ~ but in whether we rise again.

The phrase “we fall down, but we get back up again” carries the truth of God’s grace. A saint is not someone who never fails. A saint is someone who refuses to stay down, who allows God’s mercy to lift them, cleanse them, and restore them. Falling reminds us of our humanity, but getting up again reminds us of God’s divinity working inside us.

Consider Peter, who denied Jesus three times. He fell, and his shame was deep. Yet Christ restored him, reminding him of his purpose: “Feed my sheep” (John 21:17). David also fell into sin, yet he rose again after repentance and became known as a man after God’s own heart. These stories remind us that failure is not final when grace is present.

Proverbs 24:16 declares: “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.”

The just man is not described as one who never falls, but one who rises again each time, empowered by faith and God’s love.

So, if you’ve stumbled, don’t let guilt chain you down. Don’t let shame keep you from moving forward. God’s forgiveness is greater than your failure, and His mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22–23). Rise up, child of God. Dust yourself off, lift your eyes toward heaven, and take the next step.

Falling does not disqualify you ~ staying down does. But when you rise, you show the world that your hope is not in your own strength, but in the God who raises the fallen and makes the broken whole again.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your grace that lifts me when I fall. Lord, I confess that I am weak at times and stumble in my walk, but I thank You that Your mercy restores me. Give me the courage to rise again, the strength to keep walking, and the faith to believe that You are not finished with me yet. Help me to remember that my identity is not in my failures, but in Your love and forgiveness. Strengthen me to keep pressing forward, trusting that every fall is an opportunity for Your glory to shine through my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen and To God Be The Glory!

With warmth and blessings,
