Scripture: “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” Job 23:10 (KJV)

There was a time in my life when I thought the weight of what I was carrying would surely break me. The disappointments, betrayals, losses, heartaches, unanswered prayers, and seasons of loneliness seemed more than I could bear. There were nights when tears became my language and silence became my companion. I questioned God. I questioned myself. I wondered if I would ever see the light beyond the darkness.

What I did not understand then was that God was not allowing these trials to destroy me; He was using them to develop me.

The very things that tried to break my spirit were the things God used to strengthen my faith. The storms that threatened to drown me taught me how to trust Him completely. The valleys that seemed endless revealed His presence in ways I had never experienced on the mountaintops.

Looking back, I can see that every trial had a purpose. Every setback carried a lesson. Every tear watered the soil of spiritual growth. God was building perseverance in me. He was teaching me to depend on Him instead of my own understanding. He was shaping my character, refining my heart, and drawing me closer to Him.

Gold is purified through fire. It does not become valuable without intense heat. Likewise, our faith is often refined through difficult circumstances. The fire is uncomfortable, but it is necessary. The process may be painful, but the outcome is beautiful.

There were moments when I felt abandoned, but God was beside me. There were seasons when I felt weak, but His strength carried me. There were times when I thought I was losing everything, but God was preparing me to gain something far greater—an unshakable faith rooted in Him.

The enemy may have intended my struggles for destruction, but God used them for construction. What was designed to tear me down became the very foundation upon which God built a stronger, wiser, and more faithful version of me.

Today, I stand as living proof that God wastes nothing. Not the pain. Not the tears. Not the failures. Not the disappointments. He uses it all for His glory and our good.

If you are walking through a difficult season right now, I want to encourage you. Do not measure God’s faithfulness by your current circumstances. Trust that He is working behind the scenes. Trust that He sees what you cannot see. Trust that He is building something in you that could not be developed any other way.

My struggles may have left scars, but those scars tell a story of God’s sustaining grace. They remind me that I survived because God was faithful. They remind me that what tried to break me ultimately built me.

When I thought I was falling apart, God was actually putting me together.

When I thought I was being buried, God was planting seeds for a future harvest.

When I thought the fire would consume me, God was refining me.

And when I thought I would never recover, God was preparing my testimony.

What tried to break me built my character.

What tried to break me strengthened my faith.

What tried to break me deepened my dependence on God.

What tried to break me revealed God’s power working within me.

I now understand that my trials were not the end of my story. They were part of God’s process. Through every challenge, He was molding me into the person He created me to be.

So today, I choose gratitude over bitterness, faith over fear, and trust over doubt. I choose to believe that every battle has a purpose, and every trial has meaning when placed in God’s hands.

Because of His grace, I am stronger than I was yesterday.

Because of His mercy, I am still standing.

Because of His faithfulness, what tried to break me built me.

Heavenly Father, I truly thank You for being with me through every storm, every trial, and every difficult season of my life. Thank You for never leaving me nor forsaking me, even when I could not see Your hand at work. Lord, I praise You because You are faithful in every circumstance.

Father, help me to trust You when life becomes difficult. Give me strength when I feel weak, courage when I feel afraid, and peace when uncertainty surrounds me. Teach me to see my trials through the lens of Your purpose and not through the limitations of my understanding.

Lord, use every hardship to shape me into the person You desire me to be. Refine my faith as gold is refined in the fire. Remove anything within me that does not bring honor to You. Fill my heart with hope, perseverance, wisdom, and unwavering trust in Your promises.

Help me remember that what the enemy means for harm, You can use for good. Let my testimony encourage others who are struggling and point them toward Your love, grace, and faithfulness. Thank You for carrying me through every valley and for the victories that are still ahead. I surrender every burden, every fear, and every unanswered question into Your hands.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen and To God Be The Glory!

With warmth and blessings,
