Good Friday is a solemn day, a time to pause and remember the unimaginable price Jesus paid for our salvation. It’s a day that seems dark at first glance—marked by betrayal, suffering, and death. But in that darkness, God’s greatest act of love was revealed.
Jesus, sinless and pure, took on our sin, shame, and punishment. He chose the cross, not out of obligation, but out of love. Isaiah 53:5 reminds us that His suffering was not in vain—it was for us. He was pierced so that we could be healed. He was crushed so that we might be made whole.
Today, let’s not rush past the pain of the cross. Let it sink deep into our hearts, not to burden us, but to awaken our gratitude.
Let it remind us of the lengths God went through to restore relationship with us. And let the cross draw us closer to Him, with hearts surrendered in awe and thanksgiving.
Help us never to take this gift for granted. Let the cross shape the way we live, love, and serve others. May our hearts remain tender, always remembering the cost of our redemption. On this Good Friday, we bow in worship, in awe, and in love.
“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”
— Isaiah 53:5 (NIV)
Father God, today we remember the sacrifice of Jesus. We are humbled by the weight of what He endured on our behalf. Thank You for loving us so deeply that You would send Your Son to die in our place.
Jesus, thank You for choosing the cross—for taking on our sin, our guilt, and our shame.
Amen and To God Be The Glory!
