“STOP SAYING IT RUNS IN THE FAMILY~JESUS GAVE YOU AUTHORITY IT STOPS NOW”
So often we hear the phrase, “It runs in the family.” People say it when referring to sickness, broken relationships, poverty, addiction, or patterns of sin that seem to repeat from generation to generation. While it may feel true in the natural sense, the Word of God declares a greater truth: Jesus Christ has given us authority to break generational curses and walk in freedom.
When you were born again, you were adopted into the family of God. Your bloodline was transformed. You are no longer chained to the curses of your earthly lineage because the blood of Jesus speaks a better word over you (Hebrews 12:24). Through His sacrifice, you are not bound to repeat what your parents, grandparents, or great-grandparents suffered.
The enemy wants you to believe you are doomed to repeat cycles. But Jesus said: “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19 (NKJV)
Authority means you don’t just endure, you declare. You don’t just accept, you resist. You don’t just cope, you conquer in Jesus’ name. Whatever “ran in the family” must stop running when it encounters the blood of Christ.
Addiction can stop with you. Divorce can stop with you. Anger and bitterness can stop with you. Poverty can stop with you. You have the right and responsibility, through Jesus, to declare: “This curse ends now. My family will walk in freedom and blessing.”
The Bible tells us in Galatians 3:13 that Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us. That means He carried the weight of every generational chain, so you don’t have to. Instead of speaking over yourself and your family, “It runs in the family,” begin to speak: “But it runs out with me, because I belong to Jesus.”
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the power of the blood of Jesus. Thank You that I am no longer bound by generational curses, but I am free through Christ. Right now, in the name of Jesus, I break every generational curse of sickness, addiction, poverty, anger, fear, and brokenness that has tried to attach itself to me or my family. I declare that these chains are broken by the authority of Jesus Christ. From this day forward, I walk in the blessings of God, and I speak life, healing, peace, and freedom over my family line. Thank You, Lord, for the victory that is mine in Christ Jesus. Amen and To God Be The Glory!
