“RE-IMPRESSED”

In a world that applauds wealth, influence, status, and accolades, it’s easy to become captivated by the external. Such as money, followers, degrees, and titles. But Scripture continually calls us to fix our eyes on a different standard. God doesn’t look at what impresses people. He looks at the heart.

“Don’t be impressed by money, followers, degrees, or titles. Be re-impressed by kindness, integrity, humility, and generosity.”

The values of the Kingdom often run opposite to the values of the world. Where the world honors the loud and proud, God honors the quiet and faithful. Where society elevates status, God elevates the servant.

True greatness in God’s eyes isn’t in having more — it’s in becoming more like Him. That looks like kindness when no one is watching, integrity when no one is checking, humility when pride would be easier, and generosity even when it’s costly.

Let’s shift our gaze. Let’s be re-impressed by the character of Christ in others — and pursue that same character in ourselves.

What is one worldly thing you’ve been impressed by lately — and how can you shift your heart to pursue what God values instead?

“But the LORD said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.’”

1 Samuel 16:7 (NIV)

“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8 (NIV)

“Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues with injustice.” Proverbs 16:8 (ESV)

“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.” Matthew 20:26 (NIV)

“NOW MEDITATE AND (THINK) ON THESE THINGS” Proverbs 12:20-22 KJV

20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.

21 There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.

22 Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.

Heavenly Father, thank You for showing us what truly matters. Forgive me for the times I’ve been impressed by worldly status and missed the beauty of a humble heart. Help me to see as You see to value kindness over charisma, integrity over image, and humility over hype. Teach me to reflect Your character in how I live, love, and serve. May I not only admire these qualities in others but embody them in my walk with You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen and To God Be The Glory!
