BIRTH – CRUCIFIXION – THE WAY

As I reflect on “Birth, Crucifixion, The Way,” I am reminded that every true beginning in Christ is marked by surrender. There is no resurrection without death, no new life without the laying down of the old. In my own journey, I have come to understand that spiritual birth is not soft or easy, it is a transformation that requires me to release who I was so that God can shape who I am becoming.

The cross is not just something Christ endured, it is something I must carry. It is in the crucifixion of my will, my pain, my past, that I find the pathway to life. What feels like an ending is often God’s divine beginning.

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me…” Galatians 2:20 *KJV)

When I wrote “Birth, Crucifixion, The Way,” I was walking through a deeply transformative season, one where I began to understand that true spiritual birth is inseparable from sacrifice. We often celebrate beginnings, but we rarely acknowledge the pain that precedes them. Yet, in God’s kingdom, every new life is birthed through a form of dying.

The birth I speak of is not natural birth, it is spiritual. It is the moment when God calls us out of darkness and into His marvelous light. But before that light fully manifests, there is a crucifixion. Not just Christ’s, but ours. A laying down of pride, control, broken identity, and everything that keeps us bound.

There were moments in my life when I resisted this process. I questioned the pain. I wrestled with the weight of letting go. But I came to realize that the cross is not punishment, it is preparation. It is the sacred place where God reshapes us, where He strips away what cannot go with us into our next season.

The “way” is not easy, but it is purposeful. It is the narrow path that leads to life. Walking this path requires faith, obedience, and trust that even in suffering, God is working something eternal within us.

Christ’s crucifixion was not the end of His story; it was the gateway to resurrection. And so, it is with us. When we allow our old selves to be crucified with Him, we are not losing, we are gaining new life, new identity, and a deeper intimacy with God.

This poem “BIRTH – CRUCIFIXION – THE WAY” is my testimony of that journey; the breaking, the surrender, and the rebirth that only God can bring.

“For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.” Matthew 16:25

Heavenly Father, I come before You with a willing heart. Teach me to surrender fully to Your process, even when it is painful. Help me to understand that every crucifixion in my life has a purpose and that You are birthing something greater within me. Give me the strength to walk the narrow path and the faith to trust You through every season of transformation. Let my life be a reflection of Your love, Your sacrifice, and Your power to make all things new. In Jesus name I pray, Amen and To God Be The Glory!
